The Australian Pain Society’s Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) is the only multidisciplinary conference in Australia offering insights into the complex nature of pain management from a variety of medical, nursing, research and allied health perspectives. The 2026 Australian Pain Society 46th Annual Scientific Meeting (APS 2026) is being held from 19 - 22 April 2026 at the Adelaide Convention Centre, SA. The Scientific Program Committee is thrilled to have procured two impressive international speakers; Professor Yves De Koninck, CERVO Brain Research Centre, Canada, and Professor Annina Schmid, Oxford University, UK. They will be joined by an inspiring range of national speakers presenting a contemporary scientific program showcasing the breadth of pain management research, theory, and practice. The APS invites all those with an interest in pain management and education to attend APS 2026 in Adelaide, a rich multi-cultural and naturally beautiful location. Vertical Divider

If so, then painSTAR - the Pain School for Research and Translation - is the event for you! Returning to the beautiful Novotel Barossa Valley from the 15 - 19 November, painSTAR 2026 will once again offer a 3.5 day intensive program jam packed with lectures, workshops, pain labs, Q&A sessions and LOTS of fun. Consumer representatives, Amy Reynolds and Peter Rudland, will help keep the program centred in the voice of those with a lived experience of pain. The core faculty – Anne Burke, Rainer Haberberger, Wendy Imlach, Ernie Jennings, Trudy Maunsell and Tasha Stanton – are back for another round and they welcome Andrew Watson to the team! Fiona Blyth returns as the 2026 IASP representative, and we’re thrilled to welcome Kevin Keay (University of Sydney) as our inspiring national keynote speaker. We look forward to welcoming a range of other local and national speakers to round out a bumper program.
