With over 20 years’ experience across the health sector, he works alongside people and organisations to develop practical strategies for achieving positive outcomes.
Kereama’s bicultural knowledge is widely recognised and forms a core part of his work. He brings this expertise into organisations through bicultural awareness workshops, supervision, and advisory services—supporting growth, cultural capability, and best practice in the workplace. Since graduating from university in 2004, he has delivered Treaty of Waitangi workshops and contributed to staff orientations across a variety of settings. |
His career spans leadership roles across community, private, and government healthcare sectors, with extensive experience in youth and adult mental health, addiction, primary care (GPs), service design, and group facilitation.
Kereama holds a Master of Social Work, a Bachelor of Arts in Māori Society and Language. He is a registered member of the Social Work Registration Board.
Originally from Rangiora in North Canterbury, Kereama is of Ngāi Tahu and Ngāti Mamoe descent. He lives with his family between Golden Bay and Christchurch.
